Hello Family and Friends!!!!!!
Hope you all had a great week!!! So real quick I'll tell you about my last week at the MTC. So President Nattress now a member of Seventy spoke to us on Tuesday night!!!! He gave a great talk about missionary work. He also talked about us being Heavenly Fathers children. He said " Don't you ever forget who you are! You are Sons and Daughters of God. Your nature never changes, you have always been and always will be Sons and Daughters of God." I really enjoyed his talk. He had a lot of good things to say about missionary work, and it was nice hearing how much he loves Gilbert Arizona haha. That was about the only big thing at the MTC. We just had more classes. Monday morning all the Sisters in our District left and then all us Elders left on Tuesday!!!
MONTANA
Tuesday: So got up bright and early to get ready for our flight to Billings!! We arrived at the Billings Airport around 12:30 PM and President and Sister Wadsworth were waiting there for us! The Assistants were also there, Elder Wells and Elder Petty. We actually ran into Elder Wells Dad on the train ride to Salt Lake. It was awesome to finally be in Montana! The weather up here is amazing right now. It's been in the 60's and it feels awesome. So we got to the mission home and received a little instruction, then we had lunch. They had huckleberry jam and rolls. That was probably the highlight of my week, eating REAL FOOD for the first time in 3 weeks haha. So we just had more instruction the rest of the night.
Wednesday: This was a great day! We went to the Billings Montana Temple. If anyone ever gets the chance to go it's an amazing Temple. After we had more instruction at the church. Then the moment everyone was waiting for!!! AREA ASSIGNMENTS!!!!! I have been assigned to serve in the Thermopolis, Wyoming area. It's a tiny town of 3,000 people. More people went to my High School haha. So we went and had dinner at Golden Corral and then I left for Wyoming. A man from a local ward drove us missionaries to Lovell Wyoming, and there I met my companion Elder Bredsguard. He is from Mesa, Arizona! So we got two Arizona boys who have never experienced winter before put together hahaha. I'm just glad I am not the assigned driver. He has been out for about 5 months. He is a great guy, and he also looks like Clarke Kent. If anyone remembers Elder Clarke who served in our ward a while ago he is almost twins in a way. So I got to Thermopolis at about 9:30 PM so I just unpacked for the rest of the day.
Thursday: It was a great day. I saw so many deer it was ridiculous. They just chill wherever, whenever. Today was a lot of training. We had a lesson scheduled, but it fell through. Thermopolis is know for its natural hot springs. It smells pretty bad here some days. Our next door neighbor Brad is a way cool guy. He is less active, but he said he would come to the regional broadcast with us this Sunday. So after lunch we went and talked to this guy Ron who is the Pastor at the Episcable church ( don't know if I spelled that right). One of our investigators is an 11 year old boy (Jack), and wants to get baptized, but his Dad wants him to check out all the churches in the town to make sure our church is the one. So we will be taking him to all the different churches for the next month and a half. Ron is a cool guy and just explained his church so we can help out Jack.
Friday: So today we went and visited an investigator. Her name is Darlene. Her husband Tom who was also an investigator passed away last week. He said two days before he passed he was going to give up coffee so he could be baptized. I'm sad I never got to meet Tom, but Darlene is awesome. Her goal is to get sealed in the Temple! We did a lot of service today as well.
Saturday: today was a day of service! We helped an investigator build his house. It was fun doing a little construction and I might help him do some electrical work, so thank you brother Allen!! We had a lot of appointments, but they all fell through. It was a little discouraging. I have not taught 1 single lesson yet, because they all fall through.
Sunday: today we had a regional broadcast. Elder Rasband spoke!! He talked a lot about finding the ONE. He also talked about temples. It was a good meeting. We visited a lot of less actives today as well. Great sabbath day.
Well so far Wyoming is great. I'm a little bummed I have not taught a lesson yet, but it will come. I hope everyone is doing great! I miss all of you so much. I will make sure I send more photos next week of me and Elder Bredsguard and our area. I really hope you all have great weeks. Be safe, be wise, be happy!!!! Love you!!!!!!!!!!!
